Where does the name cattface come from?
I don't really know. Obviously, my name is Catherine and Catt has always been a nickname for me since school. I guess once I had internet accounts, trying to think of a username, it was easy to use my name as a basis (plus you'll see a lot of my face on this here blog.. like it or not). It started with my tumblr I think.. and my twitter is also the same. I think its just an easy, memorable name..and it seems to have stuck!

Where in the UK are you from?
I hail from a little corner of north west England - a town called Barrow-in-Furness. Its pretty much your typical working class northern town. We're right on the coast of the Irish Sea and ten minutes drive from the beautiful lake district. I can't say I see myself staying here, but it's home.

What camera do you use for photos?
When I first began blogging, I was low on money, a struggling student. So I persevered with an old digital camera, my blackberry phone camera (shocking, I know) and the webcam on my macbook pro. The quality wasn't great, it wasn't even good - but I wanted to blog, so I made do.

More recently, I use a Canon PowerShot SX500 IS, which I picked up in America. I knew I wanted something with decent picture/video quality and nothing too bulky or complicated - I'm no pro-photographer! And its so easy to use, plus the quality is fab. Its small enough to go in my handbag too!

Who designed your blog header?
The very talented missimogensmith created my blog header. I contacted her after being a big fan and avid reader of her craft blog. Her illustrations are so charming, I decided I had to have a piece of her work. After creating a Pinterest mood board and outlining my idea to her, Imogen sent me a few designs to choose from - and I chose the one I felt best reflected my interests and my blog content. I adore the little details - the lipsticks (my top make-up choice), the pen and diary (representing my love of writing) and the vinyl record.. if you look closely it even says The Smiths on it. I'm still in love with the design. I could not recommend Imogen enough!

What do you use to edit photos?
I usually use iphoto on my macbook pro for basic editing like lighting, exposure, cropping etc. I also use online image editors Pixlr Express and PicMonkey to make collages, add fonts, borders and other cool effects to my blog photos.

What did you study at uni?
I studied English Language Studies for my Bachelors degree at Northumbria Newcastle. English has always been one of (if not the) favourite school subject of mine, so it seemed natural. It was a interesting and varied 3 year course. I really did make friends for life. And I still adore Newcastle as a city.

In September 2012, I went onto start my Masters degree in Fashion & Lifestyle Journalism at UCA Epsom. The course, the lecturers, the people were all great - but in the end, I decided it just wasn't for me. Journalism is still a profession that really appeals to me - but I feel like I wanna approach it more naturally.. Through (lots of) experience and blogging rather than sitting in lectures writing essays about why I'm writing what. A journalism degree is a great way to get into the industry, don't get me wrong. It just wasn't my thing.

What do you do for a job?
Right now, I'm a freelance writer for various online and print publications penning a range of music, fashion and lifestyle features.

I get along with the money from these endeavours, however I would like something a bit more permanent, giving me more of a routine. I'm on the look out.

What is your natural hair colour?
Some would call it mousey-brown, I would call it dark blonde. It's been so long to be honest.. take a look here.. you decide.
